Maya Angelou's "Phenomenal Woman" poem is about a strong confident woman. She tells the reader that she isn't pretty like a model, but that she has the beauty of a woman. She is extraordinary by her mannerisms. Her sensuality that is noticed by men is much more attractive to men than her sexuality. The way she move, the shape and form of her body are extraordinary. She doesn't have to do anything special to get attention. Here mere presence commands it. She is a woman, and women are fascinating, phenomenal creatures.
